Fishing Report
Week of August 24
The summer heat is in full swing in Southwest Florida, but the fishing has stayed strong. We’ve had consistent action offshore with grouper, yellowtail snapper, and red snapper keeping rods bent aboard Lucky Strike.
The grouper bite continues to be reliable on our offshore spots. We can almost always count on solid catches when it comes to grouper.
The real standout lately has been the yellowtail snapper bite. The yellowtail bite has been fantastic, and we’re catching some really nice-sized fish. Once we get them fired up, the action can be fast, making them a lot of fun to catch and one of the best fish to bring home for dinner.
Red snapper fishing has also been good, but we’re officially getting into the final stretch of the season. October 25 is our last day to target red snapper this year, so if catching them is on your list, now is the time to get a trip on the calendar.
It’s definitely still summertime in Naples. The days are hot and we’re keeping an eye on the afternoon weather, but the bite has remained consistent. Between big yellowtails, grouper, and red snapper, we’ve been putting together some great days on the water.
If you’ve been thinking about booking a Naples fishing charter, especially for red snapper, don’t wait too long. We have a limited number of trips left before the season closes.
